A tranquil setting for serious learning
The planned campus is in Kakunodate, in the tranquil and picturesque city of Semboku — an environment we think is well suited to focused learning and personal growth.
As designed, it would take up to 120 students, with classrooms sized for collaboration rather than scale, and an emphasis on individual development and a global perspective.
The campus is not yet open. Opening depends on regulatory approvals that are still in progress, so we are not publishing a date until we can stand behind it.

Boarding, as planned
The intention is for Semboku to be a boarding school as well as a day school, with an indicative annual boarding fee shown in the fees section. Boarding would give students from across Japan and overseas the chance to join the school community full time, supported by staff on site.
Room types, pastoral care arrangements and what is included are still being worked out. If boarding is the part that matters most to your family, tell us when you register — it genuinely shapes our planning.
The location
The site is in Kakunodate, a historic samurai town in Semboku City, well served by the Akita Shinkansen from Tokyo and Akita.
